Practice prediction markets before using real funds.
Predicta now includes Paper Trading for Weather and Crypto markets, giving users a simulated account, immediate practice trades, portfolio tracking and settlement based on the same event outcomes used by the live platform.
Start with 1,000 Paper USDT
Paper Trading accounts begin with 1,000 Paper USDT. The balance exists only inside the simulation and cannot be deposited, withdrawn or converted into real USDT.
On supported Weather and Crypto market pages, users can switch between Real Trading and Paper Trading. Paper mode lets a user choose YES or NO, enter a simulated amount and see the estimated shares before placing the practice trade.
Paper fills use server-read market prices
The browser does not decide the execution price. When a Paper Trade is submitted, the Paper Trading backend re-reads the backing Market and uses its current YES or NO price for the simulated fill.
This gives the practice experience a connection to the current public market state without adding the Paper order to the real matching engine.
A separate Paper Portfolio tracks the simulation
The Portfolio page can now switch between Real Trading and Paper Trading. Paper mode is visually separated with blue styling and every simulated balance is explicitly labeled Paper USDT or P-USDT.
The Paper Portfolio shows Paper cash, total simulated assets, open positions, current market value, unrealized P&L, realized P&L and settled history.
Open Paper positions are marked to the current public Market YES or NO price. Total simulated assets are calculated as Paper cash plus the current value of open Paper positions.
Settlement follows the official market result
Paper Trading does not create a second oracle or a separate result. When the source WeatherEvent or CryptoEvent settles, the Paper system uses that event's winning outcome to settle the simulated trade.
This means users can practice the complete lifecycle of a prediction market, including waiting for an event to resolve, without risking real funds.
Paper and real trading remain separate
Paper Trading uses its own PaperAccount, PaperTrade and PaperLedgerEntry records. It does not write to the production Order, Trade, Position, Wallet or Ledger accounting path.
Paper trades are also excluded from real market participation metrics. They do not count toward real volume, active trader counts or production Analytics.
Users can reset the current Paper account back to 1,000 Paper USDT. Previous Paper records remain in history, while the new account generation starts with a fresh simulated balance.
